I am sorry that I have not written much. I really am. It's not that I don't have anything to write. I do. I have a ton, and even as I type I am deciding between like four stories to tell.
Okay.
I think I got it.
Junior Block.
"What's that?"
Well my darlings, it is this two semesters of PURE INSTRUCTIONAL TORTURE!!
PROJECTS, GROUP PROJECTS, MORE GROUP PROJECTS, TESTS, AND MORE PROJECTS!!!!
And we have professional development.
If you don't know what that is, consider yourself lucky.
It is basically a seminar of torture where we get added resources and instruction and guest speakers to our professional portfolio.
Yesterday was PD Day.
And the best part of PD day is that we eat. All day. We actually compete between Tuesday and Thursday section of who can bring the best food. Last year, the veterans won (the ones in student teaching now). This year, again I feel like the veterans (Tuesday class, my class, the best class, we are about to go student teach) is going to win.
Here is a list of foods we had:
-Donkey Balls
-Green Bean Cassarolle
-Pizza dip
-Pigs in a blanket
-Mac and cheese
-Vegetables
-Dessert Cheese ball
-Cookies (like four or five kinds)
-Two Oreo Pies
-Fruit salad
-Hot Chocolate
-Coffee
-Pop
-Smores bars
-Caramel Chex mix
-Cinnamon Roll Bake
-Chocolate covered strawberries
-Humus
-a few more things I can't recall completely.
YAY FOOD!
Now, our Tuesday class is nuts. We play act the grade that we are supposed to be in for whatever lesson is being taught, we talk a ton, we laugh even more, there are random bursts of shouts. We are crazy and fun and mad and wonderful.
The other class, the one's who are finishing their first half of Junior Block are boring. They were snotty (not all, just a good chunk) and rude, and refused to play act. (Again, please note, not all just most) and they were getting annoyed at our class.
Basically they don't realize, this is what is going to happen to them. THEY ARE GOING TO GO NUTS!!!
So anyways. Our class is all over the place. I end up helping Fabio with his piggy back song, and then he used my pinterest. So we were swapping laptops all around. I think I ended the day with Nikki's.
Well we get to lunch (where we obviously eat MORE food).
And we are talking about our piggy back songs that we have to sing. And one of my classmates asks, "Are you going to perform for us again? Cause last week was sooo cool!!!" (I did the dying swan for a lesson) I shook my head forcibly, "Nope! Can you imagine dancing to some of this!" And we were joking about with that I was dancing all goofy down the aisle and Katie was like, "I am doing head shoulders knees and toes!" And so I danced out Head, Shoulders, knees (dropped into a roll), and toes (dramatically held up my fist). Shannon (my twin) and Fabio just lost it. I mean lost it, and Katrina was like, "thats not your toes!" So I redid it and this time lifted my leg and grabbed my toes. And everyone just LOST IT!
So then we started planning. We decided that during Shannon's presentation that I was going to stand up dramatically and declare, "THE MUSIC MOVES ME!" And I was going to drop into a roll. Then Fabio and Kacey were going to Tango down the aisle complete with a spin and a dip at the front. And Shannon was going to try to be last! (And that Day Mrs. Samek decided that she was going to tell us who was going, and somehow Shannon DID end up being last)
So we are doing our piggy back songs and the Thursday section looks like we are torturing them, I mean they are doing the bare minimum of what they had to do to keep Mrs. Samek happy.
Speaking of which. She was nuts! I mean she was crazier than usual and through the whole class most of us were like, "What is she doing? What is going on?!"
Partially because she kept interrupting the presenters, and secondly because she was just all over the place. Like all over the place. And she was seriously confusing us.
It got to be my turn and I decided that I was going to do a comparing and contrasting song to Shalom Chaverim (which is a Jewish Song). Well I get through about half of my presentation when the professor stops me. She comes walking down the aisle. "I am going to put her on the spot here, but last week she taught and danced in a leotard, so this won't phase her!"
Well, it did phase me. I was SO not prepared.
And I hate singing in front of people. Like alot.
And so she comes up and gives me some sticks so that I can keep the rhythm. It was kind of terrifying, and I was ready to sit down. Like immediately.
It was funny though. She is like stuck on the fact that I taught a lesson in a leotard (I was wearing black leggings too and it was a very modest leotard). She even mentioned it during my mock interview with her.
Back to the original story....
Shannon finally goes up and Fabio from the back asks, "How many times are we gonna sing your jam?!" And Shannon said two, so we decided we were going to do the thing after the first time through.
We sing through it once and I stood up dramatically and said, "THE MUSIC MOVE ME!" And did my roll and knelt with my fist up dramatically. And then I hear Fabio and Kacey say, "Me too!" And then Fabio goes, "Do you wanna tango?!" So they tango down the aisle and then do a twirl and a dip. And the look on Mrs. Samek's face was PRICELESS!
She looks so confused and just goes, "What... is happening... I don't understand..."
Basically we won.
It was amazing.
Have a good Wednesday!
