-You have little/no social life: True, because when you do fun stuff you feel guilty about not grading that ever growing pile of papers.
-You feel like you are drowning: True. You don't have a stock pile of resources or ideas from previous years. This is not always bad though! You get to try new things and find awesome stuff.
-You are tired all the time: True. But isn't everyone.
-You get fat: False. Just work out. Or do planks while reading those papers.
-You have to be happy all the time: False. Teachers are human. Humans have emotions. It is better for you to have good emotions though because kids feed off of you. If you have a headache and are cranky, it's okay to tell the students, and apologize if you get snippy. In fact they are usually caring enough to not yell out loud.
-You gotta have your act together ALL The time: FALSE FALSE FALSE
-You are gonna cry: True. I even accidentally cried in front of the principal. But he was really nice about it.
-It's gonna be your most meaningful year: True.
-You are gonna learn a lot about yourself that you never would have known: TRUE! SO TRUE!!!!!
- Everything you learned in college prepared you perfectly for this: False. There is always something more you can learn. And if you stop learning, then you have a problem.
-You gotta work through your plan period without stopping: False. Take a break. Breath. Then grade that ever growing pile of papers.
