I mean getting up early on a Saturday is NOT my favorite. Although...
I very very much LOVE getting to dance in front of people.
For example today I just learned a dance this morning and preformed it this afternoon, and I LOVE that sort of challenge.
I was told I didn't have to do it, but I just really love challenging myself as such.
Then.
For the parade I got to be Minnie again, cause the girl who is normally Minnie had to march with JROTC.
I LOVE the reactions of the older women and the little kids who get excited when you blow them a kiss and then they blow one back and you act all excited and their faces LITERALLY GLOW!!!!
Then, I got to be Minnie when we walked around.
There was this little old lady that was SO excited to meet Minnie. I mean she was glowing, and she goes, "Minnie was always my favorite. I just love your dress!" And I acted out, that I was bashfully pleased and she grins and goes, "You're welcome!" and it just made my day that I got to make her day.
One of my most favorite kid moments was, I was standing there waiting for the person leading me around to come back and I hear this high pitch screech, "MINNIE!!!" So I (blindly cause I couldn't see much) knelt down in time for this little girl to come CHARGING into my arms.
It was so sweet. She hugged me so tight, and petted Minnie's face, and goes, "Oh! Minnie!! You're so sweet, you're so kind. Oh I love you Minnie!!"
Then I heard my lead go "She is coming back!" So I turned around and saw her racing towards me, so I "ran" towards her and knelt as she VAULTED into my arms. And when I patted her back in the hug, she would pat mine, and it was just so cute!
I saw her a few more times. She made my day.
There is this quote, from a Disney Character eons ago.... it goes something like "When giving a child a hug, never let go until they do, because you never know how badly that child needs that hug."
As Minnie at one point I was knelt on the ground, getting hug after hug after hug, and taking picture after picture, and it was all a blur. (A biker dude gave me this HUGE hug and turns to Mickey and says, "Don't get angry Mickey, but I do love Minnie."
And then this one instant tugged at my heart. Because of the quote. I was kneeling and this little girl had finished giving Mickey a hug and asks me for a hug, and she basically curled up on my lap and hugged me so tight. And I had another little girl who kept holding around my waist, even as I gave hugs to other kids.
I don't know why, but that just tugs at my ALL of my heart strings. And I am so glad God has been able to put people, even characters in their paths who will just HUG them, tightly.
I meant every hug I gave today. I really did.
I don't really do hugs.
But.
When I get to make peoples days like that, and know that those hugs mean the world to those kids and even adults... I will give them genuinely and truly.
I LOVE making people's days, its invigorating... and refreshing... and wonderful feeling.
That is all I am going to write. I might write a more swirly one later this week as I have a lot going on in my mind... but tonight... I think this sweet and wonderful day is just good enough for me. :)
Goodnight dear readers. Sleep well.
