I really did not even talk about detailed events so here is one of my favorites.
I was at the Golden Gate Bridge Park. There was swing dancing Sunday afternoon.
It was a lot of fun, and for once the sun was actually shining.
My uncle had driven me there on his motorcycle and I felt super cool. Because I absolutely love motorcycles.
So the swing dancing had been happening for a while, and I had been discovered as a very good partner. It's always awkward at the beginning because everyone is feeling out everyone else's level of dance expertise. I also had to get back into the swing of things (pun intended) after not swinging for a few years.
I had danced with a few of the top dogs, and I do believe had just gotten to do the jam session. (Which meant I was in the center and partners were switching out REALLY fast.) (SO FUN!)
There was this REALLY good guy who was around my age, and just a little shorter than me. I was waiting to dance with him, and was breathless from the jam session, and had in fact just turned down another partner. Then this guy walks up to me. He has this black curly hair and is seemingly in his upper twenties. He asks me to dance. I say sure, for the rest of this dance. And he quips back with, "Then the next after you see how good I am?" I nodded, "Essentially yeah."
Turns out he was a fabulous dancer. So I agreed to a second dance with him. He was goofing off during the dance and it was just so much fun! For instance he ran me into someone and then twirled me into him, and wrapped his hands around my waist, picked me up and spun while going, "Sir, Sir, Excuse me sir, Your ran into my girl here sir!"
I was laughing so hard.
And he did stuff like that for the full five minutes! Then he asked me to dinner. "Get lunch with me!" Sadly I had to decline because my uncle was making lamb.
I did invite him to the swing thing that night, and I don't think he showed up though.
But I just really love that because of all the random things. It's just nice to know some one thinks you are attractive enough just to randomly ask to dinner.
Sometimes, I just want to move to the city. But I know city life is VERY different to what I am becoming accustomed to.
