Despite all the negative Nancy's out there...
I personally think this year has been fabulous!
Every year is going to have it's rough patches,
It is up to us to find and remember the blessings God gave us.
Today the pastor talked about ringing in the New Year with forgiveness and letting all the disappointments, hurt, pain, guilt, shame, and sins of this last year go. Only holding on to the blessings of God. Moving on with your life and not getting stuck on the small stuff.
And it resonated with me.
He also talked about how we should be less selfish and Trust God's plans more than our own.
Now that REALLY resonated with me.
Here is why.
I have a life change coming up.
I am moving across state (again).
This time not necessarily for a job.
I could get a job just about anywhere.
Yet I am choosing to move closer to the male-whom-I-am-fond-of
And it is TERRIFYING!
I like having a plan.
And I don't really have one.
And it scares me.
A lot.
And yet.
I am so excited.
We have been dating for 7 months, and for all those months, we have not lived near each other.
(In fact, yesterday it was 1 year since we started visiting each other again. 1 year since watching Moana together.) (I will write a sappy blog later. Back to New Years.)
This New Year is going to bring change.
Good change.
But still change.
And that is okay.
I am looking forward to it.
I am excited for the adventures of this next year.
I truly believe it is going to be a good one!
I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us all this year!
If you are one of those who focuses on ALL the negative things of this past year... I have homework for you. Sit down and write down 10 good things from this year. And if you can't initially find 10 things, write down 5. Then see if you can think of more.
I think it will surprise you all the wonderful stuff that happened.
Did you get a pet?
Did you move to a cool new place?
Did you get a free coffee randomly?
Did you get to go on vacation?
Did you pay off a whole bill?!
Did you find a new flavor of ice cream that you love?
Did you make a new friend?
Did you get new furniture?
Did you find a new style?
DId you beat a game?
Did you watch that whole series you wanted to finish?
Did you find a new favorite book?
Did you get a random cash bonus?
Did you get engaged?
Did you have a baby?
Take some time, look back at your year.. and find/ write down a few good things that happened.
That way when you are older you can say, "Ah yes, here is all the good that came out of 2017!"
It's easy to find things wrong with the year and then complain that it is the worst year ever. It's so EASY to focus on the few negative things of this year.
So be weird and claim all the good that has happened!
And hey, be safe tonight.
I will write the sappy post later! MUWAHAHA! :D
